Princess Anne
by

I got to meet Princess Anne (of all people) the other week. It was pretty exciting - plus, there was free tea and coffee, pastries and biscuits... Free parking too! Sorry, I get excited about things like that. You see I've had my work up at the J2 Centre in Newcastle - Under - Lyme, UK, since December 2011, the J2 Centre being a new, modern, state...

I began a Canadian Geese painting 2 weeks ago, and i am almost done with it. I pretty much like everything, the colors, the composition, the movement. So basically, i am almost seeing the end of it. To view more: http://veroniquegodbout.blogspot.com/2012/04/canadian-geese-painting-in-...

On Friday I am hiring a van to go back up to Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire to retrieve my large Black Sow from the Campden Gallery and transport her to Jagged Art in Marlebone. She weighs about a hundred and sixty kilos, I think, so I have found and rubber padded a sturdy little trolly to make the gallery exit a little easier. On the way in...

Beautiful almost 3D effect created in this uplifting vibrant painting. With thick textured oil paint applied this makes for a truly expressionistic, modern panting.

This image shows the corner of a painting that is nearly finished. As you can see I block in a ground colour first and then build up the detail. I always start in the top left hand corner and end up in the bottom right. I paint in oils and generally tend to paint images that cover the whole surface of the canvas.

Happy New Year! Back in the studio and still tinkering with a set, well two pairs, of cats for the Emma Bridgewater factory. One pair crouching and the other sitting. They are a similar size to the dogs I made last year, just less than life-size, maybe 2/3rds, about 11 inches high. Made in grey clay which is hard to see detail in after 3pm in this...

THE GREAT ESCAPE
by
on 15th November 2011

From the series: NATURAL ARCHITECTURE, THE GREAT ESCAPE -the last wild seeds escaping genetic modification. All life has importance; there is no heirarchy in the universe. The artist can express this through close observation of nature. The lion and the antilope both have their place; there is no aggressor or victim. Our "civilisation" is built...
