The site is very different to other online galleries or art websites, in that it is both carefully curated, while at the same time removing the 'middle man' and encouraging direct contact between artists and their buyers.
The site is now one of the most visible curated art sites on the internet, and was designed with direct input from a group of artists from around the world. Our aim is to provide the best possible online tools to help artists effectively exhibit, promote and sell their work. Artweb.net is a fine art marketplace, directly connecting artists around the globe with their key audiences: buyers, galleries, dealers, art advisors, collectors, curators and museum directors.
> What do I get as a Member Artist?
As a member you can display your work on the site, and sell your work direct to buyers at 0% commission from your own Artist Profile page with personalized URL (www.artweb.net/ yourname).
You can connect your Paypal account and accept credit card payments, and can further promote your work with tools like the artists blog and 3D 'virtual' exhibitions, and will benefit from being part of our collective marketing efforts. We also keep our members up to date with regular emails informing you our members of Artists Calls, Competitions & Opportunities from around the world.
> How is Artweb.net funded?
We do not charge commissions on sales, as we believe in promoting direct contact between artists and their buyers. Instead our website development and marketing costs are funded collectively, through a low monthly membership fee of between $3 and $7 dollars per month (discounted if annual), depending on the number of pieces you wish to host on the site.
> How is the site promoted?
We're proud to be the most visible curated art community on the internet, which is because every cent, penny and eurocent that comes in from the membership goes back into the collective marketing of the site. This includes online marketing, advertising on Google and Facebook, search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, as well as print advertising in key publications.
> Is there advertising anywhere on the site?
No, and there never will be. We don't think that art and advertising for go very well together, and want to keep the user experience as clean and uncluttered as possible.
