As a Dutch painter of floral artworks I pay a tribute to the Netherlands, land of flowers. Therefore I developed the Dutch Flower Artcessories: artbags, artbrellas etcetera with a reproduction of my paintings. Applied art-printed textiles such as cushions and curtains recently were added to the range of colourful accessories.
My artworks show my love for bright colours and strong colour contrasts. Combined with this specific type of composition I feel (and hope) that they have become real eye-catchers, in a positive way. It helps me express my gratitude for the beautiful images that can be found in our day-to-day life, in nature around us. As a viewer, an observer, it makes me feel tiny like an ant or a beetle wandering around in the middle of nature's spectacle of colours and shapes. It is the perspective of that tiny creature that fascinates me. To me it symbolises our own position / role in the world (i.e. mother nature) around us.
