Virginia Zanetti was born in Fiesole (Fi) in 1981.
In 2005 she graduates with honours in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (110 out of 110 ).
In 2007 she got the qualification, in the Academy of fine arts in Florence, for teaching art, drawing and history of art.
In 2005 at Biennale di Venezia she made an exclusive interview to the Dutch-Southafrican artist Marlene Dumas.
She gives several personal exhibitions all over Italy and in Europe. She got publications of several works and some of her pantings belong public and private collections in Europe and in the U.S.A.
She also committed in the organization of art-cultural events, in the past in the underground world and now in private and pubblic galleries.
She was member of networking: an art and polical group of activists and performer, that made some actions, exhibitions, urban incursions.
At present she lives and works between Florence and Milan dealing with installation with different media: painting, photography, video, it is in relation with her poetic necessity.
She also has played as dj of electronic music with BEAT BRIDES: a female artist group.

Virginia Zanetti's research explores the relations and principle that governs phenomenons, crossing spirituality and science, autobiography and collective memory. Her poetic is made by light and colour, matter, silence, empty spaces. She uses painting, photography, installation,
video, performance, relational art in relation of her communicative and processional necessity.
